Abstract
In this thesis I explain the issue of bandwidth management in local networks by using the MikroTik active network elements MikroTik and RouterOS operating system. Description of network protocols, description of network topologys, specifications of network devices MikroTik, description of possibilities of data flow control and comparison of their effects on the network throughput. Everything is solved and shown on specific examples in a specific LAN.
