Abstract
This bachelor thesis focuses on the design and realization of an innovative chest belt for respiratory
monitoring, manufactured using multi-material 3D printing. The primary contribution of the work
is the application of the "Print-in-place" technique, which enables the simultaneous printing of both
the sensor and fastening components in a single manufacturing process by combining conductive and
non-conductive thermoplastic polyurethane. The practical part describes the structural design of
the sensor’s spring geometry, its subsequent optimization, and the implementation of an electronic
circuit for signal preprocessing. The prototype’s functionality was verified on a lung simulator across
various physiological and pathological breathing patterns. The results demonstrate a high degree
of correlation with the commercial standard and a signal amplitude approximately twenty times
higher than that of the reference device.
