Abstract
The thesis "Evaluation of the Employees' Benefits System in a Selected Organization" focuses on analyzing and assessing the effectiveness of the employee benefits system at BO RAILS. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the impact of these benefits on employee job satisfaction and motivation. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part deals with human resource management, employee compensation, motivation, and employee benefits. The practical part includes an analysis of the current state of employee benefits in the selected organization, conducted through a questionnaire survey.
The questionnaire survey was distributed among 450 employees of the Ostrava branch of BO RAILS, with 264 respondents providing relevant data. The results show that most employees rate their job satisfaction positively, with key factors being salary, employee benefits, and job security. The most commonly used benefits include meal allowances, pension and life insurance contributions, extra vacation days, recreation and children's camp contributions, and sports and cultural contributions. Employees also appreciate educational courses and training that support their professional development.
The survey results revealed several areas for improvement. Employees requested an increase in the recreation allowance to its original level, the introduction of the possibility of working from home (home office) for selected positions, and better communication regarding changes in benefits. It was also recommended to conduct additional surveys focused on the perception of fairness in the benefits system and the utilization of Multisport cards.
Based on the findings from the survey, specific recommendations were made to improve the employee benefits system in the selected organization. One of the key areas identified was the support for professional education. Although actively utilized by employees, it is considered less important compared to other benefits. Feedback from employees also clearly indicated a demand for the introduction of the possibility of working from home (home office) for selected job positions. This step could contribute to a better work-life balance for employees without negatively impacting work performance. The repeated request for an increase in the recreation allowance was also considered important.
In conclusion, employee benefits represent a significant motivational tool that functions at a very good level in the organization. However, it is advisable to continuously respond to employee feedback and flexibly adjust the system to meet their changing needs. Based on the above findings, it can be concluded that the aim of this thesis has been fulfilled.
