Abstract

In the introduction of the thesis of “Comparison of Methodologies of Evaluation of Physical and Chemical Properties of Municipal Solid Waste" the problems and waste characterization, utilization and waste management is described. In the next section I describe the precarriage location in the city of Ostrava and their characters are given procedures of acquirement the samples of municipal solid waste (MSW), their preparation and subsequent analysis. Then, a further description of the methodology for determining the physical and chemical properties of MSW is discussed and compared with the practice. The practical part will deal with the analysis of samples of MSW from four precarriage sites in Ostrava. The results of this analysis were obtained by using two different methodologies that will compare with each other. The result of the work will compare the methodologies and recommendations for practice.
