Abstract

The thesis focuses on the issue of debt relief, primarily on the process of spousal debt settlement. Its aim is to evaluate and analyze the way of solving the joint debts of spouses through the debt relief process. The thesis is divided into three main chapters. The theoretical part contains the basic characteristics of the insolvency proceedings, defines the concepts of the insolvency law, and primarily explains the issue of debt relief and the process of spousal debt settlement. The practical part focuses on the analysis and evaluation of three case studies of joint insolvency of spouses in specific insolvency proceedings in the Czech Republic.
