Analýza hospodářské konvergence vybraných zemí bývalého východního bloku k Evropské unii v letech 1995 – 2010

Abstract

This thesis deals with the economic convergence of the former Eastern Bloc countries to the EU15 group. The goal is to choose the best indicators of economic convergence, describe, interpret and compare the information obtained.  This thesis attempts to clarify whether the former Eastern bloc economies have strong economic fundamentals and are able, despite the current economic crisis converge to the economic level of developed countries in Europe. The work will follow the many indicators that can be used to measure the convergence of economies. These divided into indicators of real convergence, nominal convergence and economic performance indicators.  This thesis is organized as follows. The first chapter is to define the term economic convergence, history and the reasons for its measurement. Are also gradually defined indicators measuring economic convergence, through which the real and nominal convergence and economic performance evaluated. The following chapters are devoted to practical indicators of real and nominal economic convergence and economic performance are compared for individual countries and the results evaluated in terms of historical and political circumstances in these countries.
