Abstract
This thesis deals with creating a model of a three-phase voltage inverter and asynchronous motor in OrCad/Pspice software and subsequent analysis and optimisation to obtain the most efficient use of this system. Electrical losses arise mainly on the switching parts of the voltage inverter resulting in the generation of undesirable thermal energy that needs to be removed from the chips of these parts to the heat sink, thus ensuring proper and trouble-free operation of the device. The goal of this thesis is to analyse the voltage inverter losses for different switching frequencies, speed and load of the locomotive motor and to create a matrix of optimal switching frequencies in which the voltage inverter is working with constant losses.
