Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the legal and economic consequences of unauthorized business in the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to sufficiently evaluate the current situation of unauthorized business and to define the causes from which it can arise. Furthermore, to determine the consequences of unauthorized business. These consequences are defined from a legal and economic point of view. From the economic point of view, the issue of unauthorized business is divided, according to the economic consequences, to macroeconomics and microeconomics. The bachelor’s thesis describes two practical examples of unauthorized business. The first example relates to unauthorized business as a criminal offense. The second example is described on the basis of a misdemeanor under the Trade Licensing Act. Proposals that could help in the fight against unauthorized business and the shadow economy in the Czech Republic, are described at the end of the thesis. Descriptive methods, analysis, deduction and comparison are used to achieve the set goals. The method of deduction is used in the final part of the thesis in determining proposals to minimize unauthorized business, these proposals are used primarily on the basis of the causes of unauthorized business. The method of comparison is used in the development of business (from 1990 to 2019) and unauthorized business over time (from 2008 to 2019).
