Abstract

The topic of the bachelor thesis is the “Proposal to Increase the Efficiency of Work in the Calibration Laboratory by Implementing the 5S Method”. The theoretical part focuses Kaizen and Gemba Kaizen approach; more specifically concerned it focuses on the three main activities of this concept, namely standardization, 5S method and the removal of muda. It also describes the impact of these activities on quality, cost reduction and delivery performance. The importance of employee motivation is also mentioned. The practical part describes the gradual implementation of all five pillars of the 5S method to eliminate the critical factors causing the reduction of work efficiency and an overall evaluation of the effect of this approach.
