Abstract
Increased use of secondary raw materials is the main trend of contemporary global and local raw materials policy. Pigments are highly sought commodity on the market in many industrial and artistic sectors. The work examines a method of preparing fine-grained powder mount - pigment - from selected waste materials as red mud from bauxite processing, fly ash from the incineration of sludge from sewage treatment plant and converter sludge from the production of steel. It focuses on pigment production from these waste materials based on use of finishing technologies. Next, the work explores the possibilities of using the obtained pigments for mural painting and for related area of the restoration. Finally it detects the ability to compete on quality with industrially produced pigments commonly available on the market.
