Srovnání průběhů a následků povodní v ČR mezi léty 1997 - 2010

Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the comparison of the course and consequences of floods in the Czech Republic during the years of 1997 and 2010. The thesis is divided into three parts. The introductory theoretical part describes floods in general, depicts their courses and protection against them. The practical part describes the floods in 1997, 2002, 2009 and 2010 together with their causes, courses and consequences. This thesis also mentions differences in legislation that concerns floods. It analyses individual differences in crisis management and various alternatives how to cope with floods. It also deals with manning of crisis management staffs and public administration in flood control activities. The final part of this thesis contains a list of fundamental activities carried out in handling the aftermath, the summary of acquired information, including suggestions of possible precautions for improving the current state.
