Abstract

Věra Holubová, Ph.D. The aim of the diploma thesis was to compose a study on the biometric security systems applied in commercial sector and draft criteria for the selection of appropriate technology. The first part is focused on the history and development of biometric systems, followed by a theoretical basis for the selection of criteria, with a description of each technology, as well as the methodology, describing the method of selection of criteria and comparison of exemplary systems. The practical part contains the results of questionnaires, showing the most appropriate criteria and further calculations and analysis for comparison of exemplary systems among themselves. The criteria are useful for a wide range of subjects.
