Abstract

This thesis deals with non-destructive tests (NDT) of welded joints. It describes basic test methods such as visual testing, penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing, radiographic testing, ultrasonic testing, as well as some special methods like acoustic emission testing, eddy current testing, leakage testing, a method of phased array and the method IRIS (Internal rotary innspection systems). It practicaly shows suitability for detecting certain defects in the condenser cooler. By non-destructive testing, it determines the residual life of the condenser cooler, which provides very important operational flexibility unit FCC (fluid catalytic cracking unit).
