Abstract
This thesis is focused on the assessment of the stability volume of waste from the manufacture of iron and steel. In the first part of this work deals with segmentation and characteristics of wastes from metallurgical industry and also mentions the most important producers in the world and us. Other sections deal mainly slag concrete. Included here is distributed according to the terms of both chemical and mineralogical composition and physical properties and volume. At the end of the theoretical section suggests the use of waste as an alternative source of raw materials primarily in the construction industry but also in other sectors.
The experimental part is focused on determining the volume stability of slag and dolomite construction materials. This section lists and describes the tests that were performed on samples. It is the determination of pour density, granulometry, mechanical treatment of the samples, X-ray diffraction analysis, pyknometrii and measurement of volume stability in a sand bath. The conclusion summarizes the results of the above tests and a final evaluation of the stability volume of the samples.
