Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis deals with the design and implementation of a functional simulator for cardiotocographic measurements in the field of perinatology. The theoretical section analyzes fetal physiology in the late stages of pregnancy and the technical principles of prenatal fetal monitoring methods. The practical section describes the development process of a phantom that integrates the simulation of fetal heart rate (FHR) and uterine contractions. The thesis documents the transition from the original plan of 3D printing to the use of commercially available models due to their superior acoustic and mechanical properties. Two prototypes were developed: the first with a hard plastic fetal model for stable vibration transmission, and the second with a silicone abdominal belt for a more accurate simulation of contractions. The functionality of both solutions was verified by measurements on a real CTG device in various simulation modes.
