Abstract

This thesis attempts to design a solution for the utilization of residuary mining pits in the stone-mine, Těchlovice. The objective is to use the extracted area as a waste processing facility where waste produced in the region of Těchlovice, Malé Březno, Velké Březno, Rychnov, Lesná and Nebočady villages would be treated. The introduction of the thesis focuses on a historical and geographical description of the stone-mine. The middle part of the thesis describes the geological and technological characteristics of the deposit area, characterisation of the allotment, process conditions and the following reclamation of the stone mine. The conclusion of the thesis contains a proposal of the transformation process of the reclaimed stone-mine into a facility (centre) where the particular type of waste which is collected from the micro-region will be sorted, modified and processed. The design specifically focuses on the building and operation of the collection yard and composting facility.
