Abstract

In the work there are summarized issues related to reactive power compensation at the low and high voltage. The theoretical part focuses on explaining of the fundamental questions of reactive power compensation and a description of the industrial and electrical distribution networks. It mentioned the reliability of electrical networks and distribution of electrical power. In the work there are described the reasons for power factor correction and requirements for its compliance. In the work there is described the distribution of all types of compensation with a description of each option. There are also described the possibilities of control compensation. In the practical part there is the demonstrative theoretical example of power factor correction and also a practical example with the real problems of industrial consumers of electricity.
