Abstract

The bachelor thesis compares analytic solution with adaptive numerical methods for calculation of a nonhomogeneous string displacement. Analytic calculation is difficult or impossible for some loads. We can perform calculation with numeric method like finite difference method or finite element method. Discretization is an important part of the method. It can be uniform or adaptive that it is looking for section with larger error and it refine this section. For Error estimation we use the residual, averging and the uniform inter-step method.
