Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the influence of human capital and other factors on the wages in the Hlučín Region. The thesis consists of three main parts. The first part of the thesis describes the human capital theory, its history, and possibilities of investment in the human capital. It explains the term “wage” and differences in wages, including causes. The second part deals with the influence of human capital on the wage in empirical literature by means of a literature search. The established wage-influencing determinants have been used then for preparation of a questionnaire on which the subsequent research is based. The third part evaluates the questionnaires and data acquired to compile the empirical study itself. It follows from the performed research that traits of character, skills and practice have the strongest influence on the amount of wages, which confirms the hypothesis of the influence of human capital on the wages.
