Abstract
This bachelor thesis focuses on the possibilities of using large scale soil maps for geotourism purposes in the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis was to assess whether soil maps can serve as a suitable basis for landscape interpretation and how they can complement geological and physical geographical information commonly used in geotourism. The thesis includes an analysis of selected map layers, their processing in a GIS environment, and overlay analyses evaluating the relationships between geological bedrock, Quaternary sediments, soil properties, and phytogeographical units. The results suggest that soil maps can significantly contribute to understanding landscape processes and have potential for use in the creation of geotourism routes and the interpretation of natural environments. The thesis also discusses the limitations of the available data and outlines possible directions for further research.
