Abstract
Newmark method is used for numerical realization of initial value problems for differential equations of the second order. Its benefits include possibility to affect some numerical properties (e. g. stability or order of convergency) by a suitable choice of two real parameters. In this thesis we will derive Newmark scheme for one ordinary differential equation of the second order, we will discuss the stability and order of convergence. Next we will verify theoretical results by numerical experiments. At the end of the thesis we will show how to use Newmark method for solving a system of differential equations.
