Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis addresses the design of a safe work procedure for replacing rollers on a rolling mill in heavy industrial settings. The thesis evaluates the current state of roller replacement practices and identifies the main hazards and risk factors associated with this work. Based on an assessment of the current work procedure, measures will be proposed to reduce occupational risks, with a particular focus on operator safety when handling rolls, working at heights and depths, and during activities involving the handling of hot pressure rolls. The outcome of this work will be a proposal for a safe work procedure that can help reduce the likelihood of workplace accidents and improve safety during rolling mill maintenance.
