Abstract

The aim of the thesis is based on the analysis and comparison of the migration flows citizens of the Czech Republic and Great Britain to determine the most common causes, motives and destination of the citizens of these countries. The first part deals with the theoretical plane where the historical development of the internal market since the Treaty of Rome to the present, including the definition of the four fundamental freedoms. The second part focuses specifically on the free movement of persons, together with all the rights, responsibilities, but also the possible restrictions. There is also a view of the movement of citizens within the Schengen area. Using the theoretical knowledge and the availible statistical data were analyzed movement of citizens of the two selected countries. Comparison of the findings showed that economically motivated migration flows , mainly for work, are Czech and British citizens identical. Unlike the citizens of the Czech Republic, the destination preferred by European countries, the British sought mainly overseas countries. In this area the similarities diverge.
