Abstract

The bachelor thesis is focused on public administration and civil service in the Czech and Slovak Republics. The aim of this work is to compare the main features of the civil service system and the position of civil servants in the Czech and Slovak Republics. The theoretical part focuses on public administration and the role of civil service in the European dimension, theoretical background, characteristics of public administration and the European administrative area, organization of civil service, remuneration of civil servants, education and financing of public administration. The analytical part evaluates the civil service systems in the Czech and Slovak Republics, the organization of the civil service system management, legislation, categories of civil servants, occupancy and public expenditure on remuneration to civil servants of the civil service system. The comparison is made in the years 2016-2020.
