Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of the blockchain technology and its potential use in sensitive data management. The theoretical part focuses on the blockchain itself, examining its history, principle of operation with a focus on Ethereum , data storage and lastly current solutions in managing sensitive data in the healthcare sector. The practical part describes an application for file sharing with the use of blockchain and IPFS. It presents the motivation and vision for the application itself, then it analyzes all the technologies and their use in the development. Finally, the practical part includes evaluation of the created application, its advantages, disadvantages and a comparison with a conventional approach.
