Abstract

The goal of bachelor thesis is to study in detail the principles of operation of optical fiber splitters in visible spectrum. This work describes the types, operating principles and parameters. After familiarization with common characteristics, splitters, which were a part of the assignment, are being introduced, offering basic pieces of information from the manufacturer. Regarding the prior information these splitters were tested by real measurement in real conditions in detail. Furthermore, simulation closely resembling the behavior of splitters in real conditions is performed. In the conclusion, there is assessment of exploitation of assignment splitters.
