Abstract

Many options are offered nowadays to people to get financial subsidies from the government or from European Union. My work deals with Integrated Development Plan of the Town Nový Jičín that intermediates the use of financial subsidies from European Funds and through the program Green Light to Savings (Zelená úśporám) financed by the State Fund of the Environment. Subsidies to re-vitalize housing units can be applied for from the aforesaid programs. My work focuses at housing policy in the Czech Republic. It explains the need of investment into outdated panel and brick houses. The Integrated Development Plan of the Town and the program Green Light to Savings are described in the light of this issue. The aim was to find out whether it will be more advantageous for the citizens of the town to use the financial subsidy from the Integrated Development Plan of the Town or whether it will be easier to file an application for subsidy with the State Fund of the Environment administering the programme Green Light to Savings. In this thesis I compare both programmes, evaluate possibilities of acquiring financial resources to re-vitalize housing units. My comparison strives for establishing the advantages and disadvantages of using subsidies from both programmes and considering the acceptability of the programmes for various types of applicants. Then a conclusion is made from the established information.
