Odraz ostravského industriálního tématu v městských sochách a plastikách

Abstract

The subject of my dissertation is the reflection of industrial theme in statues and sculptures in Ostrava. The first part is dedicated to the history of heavy industry in Ostrava, in which I describe the development of the mining industry and metallurgy. These two fields are reflected in the theme of statues and sculptures the most. Furthermore, I introduce the history of mechanical engineering and chemical industry. In the next part of my dissertation I describe in detail individual works of art. Every sculpture is provided with exact location and a photograph. At the conclusion of my dissertation is a plan of three walking routes, which offer the chance to visit and observe chosen sculptures that I closely described in the previous chapter. Two routes are situated in Moravska Ostrava and Privoz. The third route can be found in Poruba. Every walking route includes the information about its length and grade.
