Abstract

This thesis describes the design of Rogowski coil with passive end and layout of circuit elements to measure atmospheric impulse discharge current waveform 8/20 µs. The work analyzes theoretically the Rogowski coil principle, characteristics of pulse waves in the frequency range, further the issue of measuring discharge currents with end Rogowski coil to a capacitor or resistor. RLC generator and circuit elements are designed to measure the discharge pulse currents. According to specific parameters a design of two Rogowski coils is implemented with their geometric design including end in a capacitor and resistor. Pspice program is used to analyze the behavior of the Rogowski coil to the end in the capacitor and resistor for the periodic signal. The next step is a simulation of sensors in program ATP to the discharge lightning impulse current 8/20 µs. Based on the results of both simulations is evaluated adequacy of the design of sensors for measuring pulse discharge currents.
