Abstract
This diploma thesis focuses on evaluating the level of the Czech insurance market using multi-criteria decomposition methods. The main objective is to identify key indicators of efficiency and to assess the development of the insurance market in the Czech Republic over the period 2016–2023. The second chapter of the thesis deals with the theoretical foundations of decision-making processes and provides a detailed description of the pairwise comparison method and multi-level decomposition methods – the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Analytic Network Process (ANP), which are later applied in the practical part. The third chapter focuses on absolute and relative indicators used to evaluate the insurance market. These indicators are analyzed based on data from the Czech Insurance Association and ARAD databases, aiming to compare their development and identify potential differences in trends. The fourth chapter is dedicated to assessing the level of the Czech insurance market through the application of multi-criteria decomposition methods. In this part, the weights of individual indicators are determined, and their importance ranking is established. Subsequently, the three key indicators with the highest evaluation are selected and used to assess the market efficiency for each year of the analyzed period. The final part of the thesis presents a comprehensive evaluation of the Czech insurance market over the observed period.
