Abstract

In the largest extent, pre-production phases affects the final quality of product. These phases also include the control of purchased raw materials. It is necessary to carry out sampling of these materials to check them and to get an estimate average value of the monitored quality characteristic. The first part of this work deals with the sampling and preparation of bulk and granular materials in general. The next part introduces a prosperous metallurgical company and analyzes the sampling of purchased ferroalloys within the company. Based on the analysis of sampling and preparation of ferroalloys, there were made design changes in the workflow to take and preparation samples of ferroalloys.
