The diploma thesis is focused on the problem of buildings foundation on undermined area threaten by methane emanations. The site of interest is situated in the Silesian part of Ostrava City – Stadium Bazaly. The introduction deals with hazards to be taken into account in the undermined areas. The history of the site is given in the following chapter. The terrain reconnaissance was focused on slope instabilities, and other geohazards with emphasis on methane and radon emanations.
In the practical part of thesis geotechnical monitoring is documented and simulations of various concepts of building foundations were performed using geotechnical software MIDAS GTS NX. The results are discussed in the conclusions, as well as general recommendations concerning construction on the site of interest.
