Abstract

SIKORA, Radek. Dependence of the flash point of methanol-water mixtures on the structure of IR spectrum. Ostrava, 2024. Bachelors thesis. VŠB -Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Safety Engineering. The bachelor thesis investigates the risks associated with the use of methanol solutions, the flash point of methanol-water mixtures and the infrared spectral structure. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on evaluating the hazards associated with methanol and provides background information on electromagnetic radiation, with an emphasis on the infrared spectrum. The practical part investigates the flash point according to EN ISO 2719 at different methanol concentrations and also discusses the attenuated total reflectance method.
