Abstract
This study has a purpose to explore an effect of mechanical attributes on cutting ability of the abrasive waterjet cutting by steel with variable chemical structure after heat treatment. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with an comparison of unconventional ways of cutting materials, namely with laser, plasma and waterjet cutting. For this purpose, steel varieties 12050, 13240 and 15230 have been used. During the heat treatment (normalization annealing , soft anealing, quenching and quenching and tempering) altered significantly the mechanical properties of the used samples. An evaluation of microstructure of heat-treated steel can be found here as well as of the surface layers after cutting by the abrasive waterjet. The main object of this experiment was to find an the effect of heat treatment on the abrasive waterjet cut. The experimental part contains a number of experiments which have examined roughness of a surface quality and mechanical properties after a heat treatment.
