Abstract
Thesis present results of analysis microstructure and mechanical properties of magnesium alloys AZ91 in states F, T and AM60 in state F. Specimens were produced by gravitation cast technology to the sand and cast-iron mould. Relation between diferent treatment of mentioned Mg alloys was investigated. The results of mechanical properties were compared to tested alloys at room temperature and increased temperatures. Research was focused in part commercially used alloys and Mg alloys improved by Explat ltd. company, division Foundry of Magnesium Alloys.
Magnesium alloys AZ91 ON and AZ91 Be were study in molten statement and heat treatment T4. Improvement mechanical properties of cast structures selected alloys by heat treatment was extended. Decrease of the strength depend on the increase temperature was expected and also verified. Diferent properties of the Mg alloys in various states of treatment were confirmed by hardness tests.
Attention paid to computer simulation. Rhinoceros 3D CAD system was used to create geometry of the moulds identical with experiment. Geometry file was imported to the simulation programe QuickCast. Simulation was used to verify the performance conditions and solidification of the test bars.
Summary of casting Mg alloys, trends in the development of Mg alloys and spectacle into the unique foundry of the Mg-alloys in the Czech Republic is part of this work.
