Abstract
The bachelor thesis deals with selected surface protection of metallic materials. Attention is devoted to an explanation of each species of protections and their suitability. It also shows an application of selected protections, such as addition of chemical and galvanic coating and curing processes, surface heat treatment. An integral part of this work is metallography evaluation and 3D scanning of chromium samples. The conclusion describes and illustrates cadmium electroplating process, and is also explained the microhardness method according to the ARP 1820 and its experimental applications on samples of cadmium.
