Analýza managementu sportovního klubu

Abstract

The main aim of the thesis was to conduct an analysis of the handball sport club HC Baník OKD Karviná. This aim was achieved through SWOT analysis and club managers’ interviews (former and present ones). On the basis of found information I made some suggestions that could eliminate aspects which are negatively influencing club management. HCB OKD Karviná according to managers’ statements is economically well balanced. Nevertheless it has some flaws in the area of cooperation with smaller sponsors and managerial problems that result in limitations of manager authority. There are still big possibilities of improvement in advertising and public presentation of the club. In the first part of the thesis I focused on the theoretical definitions of the essential terminology connected with this particular area of management. In the second part the previously defined concepts are applied on the practical situation that treats about specific problems of the sport club.
