Abstract

The subject of this diploma thesis is to describe usually occuring structural variants of steel factory chimneys and to design one of them according to idea of an investor. This idea is self-supporting, solid chimney which is fixed to the foundation. It also includes a ladder with a safety cage and a gallery. Model of cylindrical shell is made in this thesis and dynamic characteristics as well as shapes of buckling are detected. This characterictics are necessary to make an assessment. Temperature and earthquake loads are taken into account besides usual wind load. Next to the common limit states design was assessed for fatigue and buckling. Part of this work is also production documentation of steel shell including accessories and assembly documentation.
