Abstract
In this thesis I deal with the comparison of the most frequently occurring alternative fuels with fossil fuels and their use in engines of road vehicles. There are also fuels characterized and given their main positives and negatives and the impact of the environment. Finally, I add own view on the topic and experience with the use of alternative fuels in practice.
