Analýza stavu hospodaření s odpady v regionu Podbořansko

Abstract

This work deals on a retrospective analysis of waste management in the region Podbořansko in the period 2003-2008. The general part provides a basic geographic, demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of the reference region affecting waste management in the area, describes the legislative developments in the field and defines the institutional waste management to ensure Podbořansko. The special part deals with the three thematic areas: 1) Analysis of waste production and waste management at Podbořansko in the period 2003-2008, by category and by treatment method, 2) Evaluation of the economic efficiency of waste management in municipalities Podbořanska in the period 2003-2008, and 3) Sociological survey between permanent residents of Podbořansko focused on understanding the economical issues of waste management in the home village and attitude to waste sorting. In conclusion the author summarizes the facts and proposes measures to improve the economic efficiency of waste management at Podbořansko and for improving knowledge of local government and citizens of the environmentally and economically friendly ways of waste management.
