Odraz řecké mytologie v současném autorském šperku

Abstract

This bachelor thesis focuses on the creation of an original jewellery based on Greek mythology. My main inspiration is the sculpture of Apollo and Daphne by the Italian Baroque artist Gian Lorenzo Bernini. The jewellery is realised using precision casting technology. The theoretical part of my work focuses on Baroque art, specifically on Gian Lorenzo Berni and his sculpture of Apollo and Daphne. Then I focusing on Greek mythology, and on the roles of Apollo and Daphne. You will also find mention of the laurel tree, which was also a great inspiration to me, and it is an important part of the sculpture itself. The theoretical part concludes with jewellery from history to the present day, especially brooches. The practical part consists of the whole process of making the jewellery. From the actual designs on paper, through the models, moulding, casting, finishing and final assembly. I also mention here the problems that occurred during the process.
