Abstract

The master’s thesis addresses the issue of fire protection for rail vehicles, focusing on the assessment of electrical products and electronic equipment in accordance with the EN 45545 series of standards. The thesis provides an overview of the legal and technical requirements for rail vehicles, as well as the certification process for electrical products. Special attention is given to the legal and regulatory framework for electronic products. The thesis describes methods for testing and evaluating materials and equipment, including their classification based on test results. The thesis also includes a practical example of the procedure for evaluating electrical products installed in a rail vehicle from the perspective of fire safety.
