Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the functionality and the subsequent comparison of feeder head of two different suppliers. The first supplier Foseco is supplying the feeder head to commonly technology of production. Second supplier ASK Chemicals supplied the feeder head extension sets for each feeder head insert. The comparison was carried out from the viewpoint of ensuring the casting quality, consumption of, the liquid metal and evaluation reserves in feeder head after casting. During the experiment the weight of feeder heads of individual suppliers was compared, the size of the reserves of feeder heads and finally, castings were subjected to a non-destructive test, under which examined the quality of the castings under the feeder heads.
