Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with communication protocols for lighting control, with emphasis on the DMX512 protocol and its application in multimedia production. The theoretical part provides a comparative review of current communication protocols (RDM, Art-Net, sACN, wireless standards) and a detailed technical analysis of the DMX512 standard in terms of its physical layer (RS-485), data format, timing parameters, and reliability limits. The practical part contains a clear user manual for the Behringer EUROLIGHT LC2412 lighting console, including an address plan for the specific setup of studio fixtures in classroom EB428. The manual is followed by a design of practical laboratory exercises focused on lighting setups for standard portrait filming and a scene with a chroma key background. The result of the thesis is a comprehensive methodology and a laboratory task that demonstrates to students the impact of proper digital lighting control on the quality of the visual output, serving as a practical basis for university teaching.
