Abstract
The diploma work is focused on the implementation of the DRG system in selected hospital. The theoretical part deals with the definition of selected basic terms and methods of financing the healthcare payments in the Czech Republic and abroad. The more detailed characterization of the DRG system and construction of the IR-DRG version follows. The practical part assesses the DRG system in selected hospital and its impact on the average length of patients´ hospitalization, the score and the mutual relation of secondary diagnoses according to their seriousness.
