Stabilization of Cut Slope on the Reconstructed Railway Line Near Česká Třebová

Abstract

The current thesis evaluates the state of the slope stability in the reconstructed railway line near Česká Třebová taking into consideration the last cut made it in the railway 40 years ago. The study of the thesis starts with a description of the type of failure slopes and the different mathematical methods, specifying the main importance of the calculation through FEM. The next chapter describes the localization and geometry of the slope joined by a brief description of the geology in the area. In the last two chapters is used the software Plaxis 2D for the calculation of the FS taking into consideration only the information supplied by the company Geotec-GS. Moreover, the analysis of 2 different strategies of remediation for the solution of different factors such as creep, reduction of groundwater, and increase of FS.
