Abstract

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the design and implementation of a database application for an organization that organizes summer camps. The aim of the thesis was to develop an effective tool for managing people, shifts, tasks, and their mutual assignment within the camp schedule. The theoretical part is dedicated to the basics of database design, data modeling, and the use of Microsoft Access, in which the application was developed. The practical part describes the entire development process of the database application – from conceptual design through logical and physical data modeling to the implementation of tables, forms, queries, and reports. The application features a clear user interface that allows easy data entry and editing via forms, including bulk task assignment. The outputs are generated through reports, which are used to print schedules and overviews according to specified criteria. The resulting application simplifies the organization of work at camps and ensures clear planning of tasks for individual people across the days of each shift.
