Abstract
The subject of this thesis is the employability of people growing up in children's residential homes on the labor market. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the applicability of people growing up in children's residential homes on the labor market and to identify measures leading to their improvement. The aim of the thesis is fulfilled by qualitative research. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is focused on the labor market, employment, disadvantaged people in the labor market, the system of institutional care in the Czech Republic and the departure of people from children's homes to independent life and their entry into the labor market. In the theoretical part there is a link to the practical part, where qualitative research was carried out based on the method of semi-standardized interview. Personal interviews were conducted with senior people in selected orphanages. In professional life, those who have completed secondary or university studies are better off than those who leave the children's home immediately after they are 18 years old. The specific problems and causes of the problems of people in children's homes in the labor market have been difficult to ascertain because children's homes have no statistics, nor do they have information about the majority of people who have left the children's home.
