Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis deals with the use of rail transport for waste transportation in the Czech Republic. It focuses on the analysis of the current state of waste transport, the involved stakeholders, applied technologies, and the legislative framework. The thesis includes an assessment of the economic and environmental aspects of both rail and road transport, as well as an evaluation of the factors influencing the choice of transport mode. It further provides an international comparison of approaches to waste transport and identifies opportunities for improving the current system. The output of the thesis consists of proposed measures aimed at more efficient use of rail transport in waste management.
