Studie současného stavu a možností dalšího doplnění sídelní zeleně v Ostravě – Mariánských Horách

Abstract

This dissertation aims to map the species and numbers of woody plants on parcel 1093 in the cadastral map of Ostrava – Mariánské Hory. The area is bounded by the streets Zelená, Výstavní and 1. máje, and by a paved pedestrian sidewalk connecting the streets Výstavní and 1. máje. The dissertation consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part presents a delimitation of the terms greenery and urban greenery and a division of greenery types, discusses the influence of greenery on environment and the characteristics of the city of Ostrava, and describes the mapped area, mentioning its history as well. The practical part describes the individual species of woody plants that can be found in the mapped area. It also contains suggestions on how the mapped area could be supplemented, including a description of field work. The dissertation also lists the positions of individual woody plants using GPS coordinates and the species and numbers of individual woody plants in the mapped area. These data are processed into a map using ProgeCAD 2008 Professional and the map is included in appendices. Apart from this, the dissertation also contains photographic documentation of the area, pictures historical maps evidencing the development of the area, and historical photographs.
